I have recently completed my doctoral thesis on the art and literature of Dorothea Tanning at the University of Glasgow, and am now a Research Assistant in Cultural Theory at the University of Huddersfield. I also work with several emerging and established artists including Tessa Farmer, Nikos Mantzios and Robert Powell. My research interests primarily include the intersection between Surrealism and the fairy tale, the aesthetics of nostalgia, histories of the toy and children’s literature, theories of intertextuality, narratology and feminism. I have also recently developed an interest in taxidermy and research-based practice. This site functions as a research tool and covers some of the projects I am currently involved in.
